SQL*Form 3.0 question (finding #num of rows queried?)

I would like to find out how many records where returned
from a query is there a better way than this?
procedure count_records(num out number) is
tmp number;
begin
tmp := :system.trigger_record;
last_record;
num := to_number(:system.cursor_record);
go_record(tmp);
end;
