My own opinion is that embeded SQL is a true evil, since it seperates the programmer from the real structure of his code, and allows the vendors to produce awful things like the Oracle OCI interface. (ANd youthink that's bad, you should see the call level API that DB/2 uses.

Sybase, IMHO, has a real API which is functional and easy to program to. OTOH, I have never seen a "Preprocessor" to deal with embedded SQL to Sybase. Received on Fri May 06 1994 - 14:32:10 CEST
