Hello all,

I have been asked to create a system where an Oracle Ver 6.0.36 database will be mirrored so that in the event the "master" database falls over the "slave" or "mirror" databse can take over operations almost immediately. This is posing rather an interesting problem.

I believe that Oracle produced some sort of "mirroring" tool but nobody there seems to know about it.

Does anybody out there have any great ideas about how this might be achieved. Please mail me direct or follow-up.

Platforms and tech detail:
Intel 486 boxes
Interactive UNIX version 4
Oracle ver 6.0.36.6.1
Sql*net ver 1.2

Thanks in advance
John
