FORMS40 keyboard problems

Hello everyone !
I have a keyboard problem with FORMS40 under Windows f.Workgroups.
I try to use the german keyboard layout. But in this configuration
it seems to be that the Alt-keys don't work so i can't get characters
like '|' or '~'.
Any ideas ???
