SQL*Forms 3.0 problem

We are using Forms 3.0 with 7.0.15 on a Unix SVR4 box. When we create a form and save it in the database, after retrival from the database for editing the Form all the field types come up as "Unknown". Even though the underlaying tables have the correct field types and the form works ok.

Haven't recieved response from oracle support for the last few weeks (sic). Anyone know about the cause of this ???
