I think that it will be a long time before we see another Oracle TPC benchmark. To the best of my understanding, Oracle will have to withdraw its TPC-A benchmark in June because of its use of the "discrete transaction" (benchmark special). The TPC-C benchmark now requires serialized (repeatable read) transactions. My guess is that Oracle will deliver less than 5 TPS under these circumstances. The TPC-C benchmakr now uses a different metric and measures transactions in TPM (trasactions/minute). My guess is that they changed the metric because the TPS figures where so low compared to the old TPC-A benchmarks.

It will be interesting to see whether either Oracle or Sybase run the TPC-C. At this time only Informix is running them.
