I have a cursor that simply takes data from some temporary tables and does the appropriate inserts into the "offical" tables. This submitted data may range anywhere from 500 records to 30,000 records depending on the about submitted.

Loads in groups of 500 run fine. However, during times when attempting large inserts via the cursor with a record set between 1,000 and 30,000 I witness some strange behavior. The cursor will work fine for a few records and shortly afterwards will simply fall off the deep end. The CPU goes nuts and it appears as if Oracle has lost communication somewhere.

Is there an init parameter for the database or for cursors I can adjust to correct this??
