In fact, their Oracle driver works relatively well with Oracle7 as long as you don't want to use any features which were introduced in Oracle7. Also, I wouldn't bet my business on its reliability (it's from Microsoft, after all). But for short-term, non-critical use, you might want to give it a try.

Yes. They are planning to treat it like any other add-on product, like SQL*Net. It is tentatively planned to be distributed as part of some sort of connectivity package, although this is not firmly decided.

I've been told by Oracle users that Glue is faster than ODBC (surprise!).

Q+E Software (800-876-3101) sells an ODBC driver pack for $199 which includes drivers for Oracle 6 and Oracle7, not to mention Sybase, Ingres, Paradox, and half a dozen more. The Q+E drivers I've used are pretty good, although I've had several problems with their Sybase/SQL Server driver.

Please note that I don't work for Oracle or Q+E, nor do I speak in any official capacity for either one. I'm just trying to be helpful.
