I have 2 questions.
1. Can I have "dba" as the name of the database? 2. I have oracle 7.0.15.4.0 (on AIX 3.2.5) on 2 machines except the names of the databases are different (machine 1 - tmxa and machine 2 - dba). When I start the oracle using the "startup exclusive open tmxa " on m/c 1 it works fine. Whereas on m/c 2, executing the same command gives the error "illegal option". So, on m/c 2, I tried to start using "startup" and it works. But I don't see the "ora_reco_dba" process running. The machine 1 has ora_reco_tmxa running. Can someone tell me how to start the ora_reco_dba process. My transaction aborts when I try to write to the database on machine 2 whereas the same thing works on machine 1. So I am trying to make it work on machine 2. Thanks in advance.
