Oracle and client/server in health insurance

Our company is looking at moving our claims processing to a client server setup using oracle database...It is my understanding that this is relatively new technology, and I was wondering if anyone could direct me to some information on this.

I would appreciate any information on this type of setup or any comments you may have.
