Thanks for your help -- I don't have quite all the ORACLE 7 manuals here.

You are absolutely right about the usefulness of those messages for debugging. Still, I wish my users didn't see messages that tell them nothing. What would be best is a way to turn the debugging messages off for certain user IDs. This is probably a pipedream.
