orasrv will not start on

Unless Pyramid is different, I think the process you want to start is tlsnsrv, the TLI streams listener. Orasrv is for SQL*Net using a sockets interface.

Re the address, isn't that indicative of a process trying to acquire a socket? in which case, you might check your /etc/services file to see if 1525 is in use by a different process.
