Hi there,

I suspect I need a patch tape for my AIX os. I tried running sqldba on this machine and got some undefined externals error messages:

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
dbikle% sqldba

SQL*DBA: Release 7.0.15.4.0 - Production on Thu Jan 13 12:18:27 1994

Could not load program oracleDEV
Symbol kaio_rdwr in /usr/lib/libc.a is undefined Symbol iosuspend in /usr/lib/libc.a is undefined ...

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
here is what my libc.a looks like:

  -r-xr-xr-x 1 bin bin 1139785 May 27 1992 libc.a

We have another machine which allows sqldba to run just fine. It has a date of Feb 10 1993 on libc.a

I ran uname -a on each machine:

newer machine:

AIX henry 1521432 2 3 000017371800

older machine

AIX monique 2 3 000082293500

From the output above I'd like to figure out which version of AIX I am running.

I would like to find a command with output like this:

"Dan, this machine is running AIX 3.2.5"

I'm such a whiner.

Please send clues.

-Dan
