Compiling/Linking with gcc/Solaris/Oracle V7

I've been able to use gcc with Sun OS 4.1.2 and Oracle version 6 with no problem.

I'm having a difficult time compiling and linking code with the following combination of software:

Solaris Version 2.2
gcc (GNU C) version 2.0.2
PRO*C Version 1.5.6.2.1
Oracle Version 7.0.12

I've tried every conceivable combination of static, shared, symbolic, and dynamic linking. My routines will link without error, and then go off to never-never land.
