This is not an answer, but I have a similar question. I created profiles for my database users which limit their idle time to 2 hours. This works fine, however V$SESSION still shows the connection until the user attempts another SQL command. How can I tell which of the V$SESSION rows are really connected and which have been terminated due to profile limits? In any case, V$LICENSE always seems to show the correct number of sessions at any given time.
