There is also a product called SequeLink from TechGnosis located somewhere in Boca Raton in Florida USA. It allows you to connect from several different application builders on several platforms to several other databases on possibly (and likely) other platforms.

For example : we are using oracle on AIX machines and using SequeLink to connect from Mac's from within Excel or Smalltalk apps. I know that they also have a XCMD for Hypercard.
