Oracle products inventory

We currently have a number of SUN unix servers running Oracle RDBMS's and various Oracle tools/apps. Does anyone have any suggestions as to the best way to find out which products (along with their version number) reside on these servers? I'd like to be able send out a "how to" sheet to sys admins explaining the best method of documenting the installed products and versions on their respective servers.
