In a previous article, hfraser_at_maccs.mcmaster.ca (Hugh Fraser) asks:

I've just spent the last day and a half "playing" with it. Installation onto our LAN was a snap (15 min...love those CD-roms), everything seems to work (I still have scars from when Forms 3.0 first hit the streets), performance seems good (for a DOS box), and the user interface is VERY SEXY. My only grudge at this point is that fields (er. excuse me..."text items") are always one character too small. For example, a field of width 5 can only show four characters inside the box (fifth character must be scrolled to). Fortunately you simply grab the side of the field with the mouse and s.t.r.e.t.c.h to tidy it up. Of course I haven't RTFM yet so it could just be a font problem on my part.

This was also my first experience using SQL*Net TCP/IP for windows (most of our Oracle work has been on Unix). I've installed SQL*Net with the winsock driver and had success with both Microsoft TCP/IP and PC-TCP/IP running under winsock.

As an added twist, I spent the hour before quitting time today trying to bring it up under WABI. To my surprise, runform, oraterm, and orainst came up and appeared to work (without winsock for WABI I couldn't use SQL*Net so there wasn't much to try, but the transactional trigger demo seemed to work fine). The designer died a quick death under WABI.

I can't wait for the Motif version!
