Oracle 7 itself supports XA. So too do RDBMSs such as DB2/6000 and Informix 5, TP monitors such as CICS/6000, Encina, Tuxedo and TOP END, and ISAM's such as Gresham's ISAM-XA and Encina's SFS. You should be able to have a good time proving that transactional atoms formed from these can't be split.
