We've come across a few anomilies with oracle 7.0.12 and oracle 7.0.13 on a Sequent running ptx v2.0.4.

  1. An update of a large table with no indexes causes several rows to be created.
  2. When the load on the machine is high, we've had a couple of instances of a lock being obtained for update by a form, but when the change is being committed, the error "NO DATA FOUND" is reported.
  3. When the load is high, we've also had this problem happen a couple of times: one process gets a row for update from a table and updates a flag on that row to indicate that it is being updated. Another process obtains the same row for update at the same time.

So we're wondering about Oracle7's stability on Sequent PTX. Received on Tue Nov 16 1993 - 15:16:12 CET
