Raw Devices vs. regular file systems DB access

I have read and understand the Advantages/ Disadvantages of using raw devices (Character device drivers) for mounting the Oracle database files. The book gives a theoretical look at the reasoning.
I was wondering what you Oracle DBAs prefer and how many of you actually use raw devices for your Oracle databases. What do you like or would change if you were to start fresh?
