ECRC is offering a research position in the area of real-time temporal databases.

ECRC is looking for a highly qualified researcher with a proven ability to conduct innovative research and a strong, preferably industrial, experience in the development of real-time database management systems.

The candidate should have a good theoretical background in database management systems, preferably temporal database management systems, with a PhD or equivalent experience.

The candidate will work with a team of researchers in the ChronoBase project to extend a deductive temporal database system with real-time capabilities for a variety of innovative application domains.

European Computer-Industry Research Centre is located in Munich, Germany. English is the working language inside ECRC. The centre is funded by a consortium of major computer companies (Siemens, ICL, BULL), with a mission to pursue research in fundamental areas of computer science and to transfer technology to the shareholder companies. The centre has a strong industrial focus and aims to develop industrial strength innovative product prototypes. Active areas of research include deductive systems, database systems, parallelism, distributed computing, visualization and user interfaces. The center employs around 50 researchers of 21 different nationalities.
