What is the maximum size of database that Oracle can support?
If the operating system can only support files up to 4Gb, and some tablespaces are larger than 4Gb, would the best way to handle this is via "stripe"ing? In addition, is osh's ulimit less than 4 Gb? Can we use raw disks on the whole partition of 5.44 Gb disks to get around this limitation? Can we stripe raw disks? How different would this be on HP-UX 9.0, and has anyone tried using the Logical Volume Manager on databases larger than 90 Gb?
This is the first time I read this news, and I seldom read news. Could you kindly cc me when posting an answer?
Thanks,
Sukan
