I have had exactly the same problem as you just a few weeks ago. Oracle Cust. Support has told me SQL*Net for Windows would be necessary.

In order for it all to work, you must have PC/TCP Ver 2.05 (or newer).

Once I installed it (LOCALLY !!!) on a PC, and it worked well. Note that I had to install MS Windows, SQL*Net for Windows, MS Access and Visual Basic LOCALLY on the PC.

I have tried to install it all on a Novell server, and I did not manage, nor did our Novell specialist (in the time available). As for us, this was only for temporary use, this was o.k.
