Hi everyone out there,
I have a doubt regarding how locking is done during Inserting a record
into a table.
When we need to insert into a table, what kind of lock do we need
to take on the tables involved.Do we need to lock the whole table
or is there a better way like locking the indexes of the pertinent
tables???.
Users cant lock the indexes on tables in ORACLE. I am asking this
question since I need to insert into some tables in a distributed
database and need to ensure Transaction consistency,
Thanks,
