Ooops !!
Due to a deft bit of deletion I did not read the whole of the original post - I have just learnt how to retrieve previously read posts ( an oldish dog has learnt a new trick ).
Anyways if anyone does know if RCS does solve the line length problem could they let me know, or if anyone would like the 2 C progs let me know.
