Hello,

We are a group of three Information Science 4th year students who are doing a project comapring two RDBMS's. We are comparing Oracle (Ver. 6) against Rdb/VMS (Ver. 4.2).

We have a few questions:

  1. Is there anyway of creating triggers in Oracle other than through SQL*FORMS?
  2. Is there anyway to partition a table over various tablespaces?

Also:

We have noticed various points not supported in Version 6.

  • Primary Keys (Other than by Unique Indexes)
  • Referential Integrity (F.K's)
  • Constraints
  • Domains
  • Only index Ascending

Are any of these supported in Version 7 of Oracle?

If you know the answer to any of the above questions or any more points that are not supported that we have not specified, it would be greatly appreciated by us if you were to let us know.

Thanks,
