Does anyone know whether it is possible to have some control over the naming of the trace files in Oracle 6.0? I want to automate the process of retrieving a trace file and so I need to know in advance the name given.
The Installation Guide says:
A trace file has the name
ora_<proc>_<pid>_<sid>.trc
(e.g. ora_4_1234_test.trc)
where <proc> is the Oracle process number, <pid> is the Unix process id, and <sid> is the system identifier.
But it mentions nothing about naming the file yourself.
Any help would be appreciated. Alternatively, is it possible to determine the current values of <proc>, <pid> and <sid>? Received on Mon Jun 14 1993 - 11:08:49 CEST
