Need info about accessing other relational dbs via Pro*C

Hi there!
We have a need to write some Pro*C programs( or any other better approach)
that will access other relational systems ( Informix, Sybase and Ingres )
and update our Oracle database.
Is this possible ? ( Heard Oracle v7 had some hooks in doing this )
If so, where can I find information about it.
Any help is appreciated.
