Selected tables are automatically joined if the tables were created with constraint information. If no constraint information is in the data dictionary, then you have to manually create the links (after which they will be automatically enabled or disabled depending on your query).

Also, simple where clauses can be automatically generated from the spreadsheet-like interface. The useful part of this is that you do not need to know the difference between where and having conditions. Oracle Data Browser automatically takes care of them.

Freezing your machine on big queries is because of the dependency on SQL*Net. This happens also on Windows. This issue is being addressed by ORACLE7 Version 7.1 and SQL*Net V2.1. Are there any ad-hoc query tools that work against Oracle in the background on the Mac?
