Kendall Square Research is looking for creative software engineers who thrive in a challenging, complex, and highly-focused environment. Projects include parallel queries/transactions, parallel DBMS utilities, benchmarking and performance tuning, modeling, quality assurance, and customer support. Engineers will be responsible for enhancing, tuning, and testing third-party commercial software for the KSR parallel machine.

Knowledge of DBMS internals is essential, as are UNIX and C skills. ORACLE experience is a significant plus. Some positions require a background in performance tuning or QA; some may involve management responsibility. Helpful experience includes: database application development tools, client/server systems, transaction processing, parallel machines, software porting, and communications.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years' related experience with a record of successful design and implementation (or tuning, QA, or support) of innovative commercial products in a database-oriented environment. An MSCS degree or equivalent experience is preferred. Applicants should be strong hands-on implementors, good communicators, and team players with the ability to work well independently.
