You can use 'do_sql' in ReportWriter 1.1 to do DDL and DML. Oracle Reports V2.0 supports PL/SQL as well as do_sql, so you can embed logic including DML in your code. Oracle Reports is our flagship reporting tool, but SQL*Report (also known as RPT) is still supported. Many Oracle shops are using RPT and SQL*Plus still for reporting, but Oracle Reports is clearly the wave of the future.
