We are upgrading to Oracle 6.0.36 on our Amdahl box running UTS 2.1.5. UTS 2.1.5. has a new feature, EFT (Extended Fundamental Types), which increases the size of certain system and kernel parameters. In order to use EFT, applications which use system calls or header files affected by these changes may require changes to work properly, and must be recompiled with an eft flag.

Although Amdahl will accommodate both eft and non-eft compiled programs in this release, Oracle is requiring all Pro*C applications to be recompiled with the eft flag. We have several thousand source modules which will be affected. In addition, since apps compiled with the -eft flag will not link to apps compiled non-eft, even our non-Oracle local C language libraries must be eft-ized.

Has anyone out there already done this? Are there any Amdahl sites using Oracle 6.0.36/UTS 2.1.5. who could offer any advice? Thanks.
