Hi Tim,
I appreciate the quick response and the sample program - you're right it does work (perfectly and as documented) - I had the lda and cda pointers reversed in the argument list of my oopen() call.

We did purchase the Procedural Option and we did receive Pro*C and OCI manuals with V6 - I was led to believe that the V7 manuals aren't ready yet...
