Trying to install V7 on SunOS 4.1.3. Get ORA-07279: spcre: segment error, unable to get first semaphore set. SunOS Error: 28: No space left on device. Additional information: 2
This appears to be happening running crdbXXX.sql. I've got 60 semaphores available, 50 processes are defined in the initXXX.ora file. Then it goes on and gets some other errors then ORA-07318: smsget: open error when opening sgadef.dbf file. There is plenty of room on the disks. What is going on? Is Oracle silly enough to try to open it on the cdrom? Sorry to waste net bandwidth with this, but Oracle claims we don't have a service contract (we do, but it will take weeks or months to prove it to Oracle - government red tape, you know). Could it have anything to do with having V6 on the system (I get the same error whether or not V6 is running - is there a problem with semaphore identifiers?) Manually removing existing semaphores with ipcrm also had no effect.
Thanks in advance
Joel
