Oracle Archiver

I'm planning on using the Oracle Archiver and I'm interested in hearing about how other DBAs are using the Oracle Archiver.

I am investigating three possibilities:

1. Archiving to a disk device that contains Oracle data files.
2. Archiving to a disk device that contains no Oracle data files.
3. Archiving directly to a tape device.
4. Archiving to another system on the network (via NFS)

I will summarize all responses for the net.

BTW, I'm running 6.0.36.4.1 on DEC RISC ULTRIX.
