   For what it's worth, X Windows emulators on the PC are notriously    slow. Even the new Desqview/X requires a hefty machine like a 486/50    with lots of memory to run properly. I don't know what current prices    are fro X/terminals but they are probably cheaper than a decent 486/50.

   I am running Desqview/X now on a 386/33 and am able to (barely) run    SQL*Forms, etc. in a window. Try this out on your HW before you buy.

   I would think that having the CASE tool and the data dictionary on    the same machine would be the fastest.
