I am installing Oracle on a Sun SLC workstation and have encountered some errors. I believe they might be memory related:

ranlib: warning: /usr/local/lib/oracle/rdbms/lib/libpls.a(plsima.o): no symbol t able
ranlib: warning: /usr/local/lib/oracle/rdbms/lib/libpls.a(plsrtr.o): no symbol t able
`osntab.o' is up to date.
`osntabst.o' is up to date.

Creating database startup parameter file (/usr/local/lib/oracle/dbs/initsr.ora)... Creating and initializing database and log files. Create database Failed.

SQLDBA> ORA-07310: smscre: unable to create sga. Additional information: 8
SQLDBA> ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-07318: smsget: open error when opening sgadef.dbf file. SunOS Error: 2: No such file or directory SQLDBA> 2> 3> 4> DBA-00302: not connected to a database

This looks like it is complaining about the SGA? Perhaps the SGA is too big for a 16M machine? Has anyone had any experience in installing Oracle on a machine without a lot of memory? The other machines I've installed Oracle on have 90+ megs of memory....

PS: Does anyone know what the ranlib warnings are about?
