The version of Q+E that comes packaged with Excel will not allow you access and external databases eg Oracle. To get access to Oracle, you need to obtained the database server version of Q+E. This can be done by upgrading the version of Q+E that comes with Excel.

P.S. This may sound silly but you need SQL*Net as well on your PC.
