SQL*Forms users

We are evaluating RDBMS systems and their associated programming environment as a platform for our complete suite of administrative applications.

We've looked at Sybase and their APT tools. However, we have found that most Sybase users (including the Sybase provided references) that we have been able to contact were unhappy with the tools from Sybase. Most users preferred to use some third-party products.

We are also seriously considering Oracle. The obvious questions we have to ask ourselves (and you too!) is... Are Oracle users generally happy with the SQL*Forms, SQL*Menu, SQL*ReportWriter (etc.) toolset? Do you swear by the tools or swear at them?

Note that one of our most limiting constraints is the need to support a variety of desktop platforms, including dumb terminals, MS-DOS computers, Macintoshes, and a smattering of Unix workstations. We simply cannot afford the time to write the same application in *different* programming environments to support our variety of desktop devices.

Please respond to me directly. Thanks for your time.
