SQL*ReportWriter seeding &PAGE variable

I have attempted several times to create an additional variable from which to see the &PAGE field in efforts to create a report that would allow the user to start page numbering at a particular value.

I need to modify the seed value for &PAGE and continue incrementing this value on each addtional page.

Can someone help me out with this??

EXAMPLE:

Report parameter screen
> Destination Type: Screen
> File Name / Spool Device: NeXTlaser
> VOLUME: 58
> ISSUE: 12
> INDEX PAGE: 67 # begin page numbering with &PAGE=67
