Many times there is a need to customize SQL*Forms forms generated by the Oracle CASE tools. Many sites have written awk scripts ( in unix o/s) or other utilities to modify the ".inp" file. These utilities help to automate the customization procedure. Now the dreaded word going around is that Oracle may get rid of .inp files for SQL*Forms 4.0. (????)

A method to avoid modifying .inp file would be to generate the customization file which would be input of keystrokes to the forms designer using option -r. Has anyone taken this route ? Is it worthwhile ? Your input is appreciated. Any other alternative.

        I will post the summary.

Thanks in advance.
