- Then I don't believe your interpretation of the error message is correct. If the TNSNAMES file is there and that is where Oracle is looking then something else is very wrong. ORACLE_SID, read permissions, etc. Post the actual, complete, text of the error message and your SQLNET trace. -- Daniel A.
