You are right that the problem seems to be with SQLNET.ORA. I removed those two lines you mentioned.

And it also seems that in TNSNAMES.ORA, the line that says

SERVICE_NAME = MyDBName

needs to be changed to

SID = MyDBName

as you instructed in a previous message a few days ago.

So, now, I am able to connect to the database, and could actually see those table structures. Thank you so much for walking me through this.

But it looks to me that discoverer is more like a database management tool instead of a reporting tool.

I don't even know how to create a simple SQL query with discoverer. Hmm, how to submit a SQL query from discoverer? Received on Sun Sep 10 2006 - 06:48:19 CEST
