REPORTS 10G (R2) truncating strings to 32 chars.

Hi,
I have a number of reports where a predicate string is anywhere between 50 -
250 chars.
This works, but when reports displays the data, it truncates the string to
32 chars. I've tried changing the rw class for the filed with no joy. Has
anyone come accross this before, and if so, how did you fix it..?
