Hello,

my customer would like to start using forms again, but only if it can run with Single Sign-On, for which he is already using Novell's iChain.

After a succesful login, iChain provides the user's credentials via http-headers to the server. I did not find how Forms could use this information. If I could put a simple php-script on the server, accessing that information is a piece of cake, but how could the php-script pass that information to forms?

iChains' OLAC allows one to put the credentials in the query string that is passed to the server (ie. in the URL). We'd rather not go that way, because then this information appears in log-files. We didn't manage it neither, we succeeded in getting the username, but iChain is not willing to transmit the password in the url, or we are giving the wrong parameters to OLAC.

If we could store the credentials in a temporary cookie on the client, a Javabean could retrieve them and automate the login.

Finally, we could install Oracle's Single-Sign-On and have it synchronise with iChain.

Anybody been this way before?

Thanks,
