Toad - Empty message box while trying to login

I was getting an empty message box when I was trying to login to any database via toad. I could not connect.
Found out the problem was that my ORACLE_HOME was not set as an environment variable.
It worked after I set it (right click on My Computer, advanced settings etc.)
