Usenet groups have charters. Charters are rules. Try reading one.

If you wish to be rude that is certainly your choice. Generally speaking, however, people do not do business with companies that insult them and then don't apologize.

Apparently losing face is not an issue for you.

I hope losing potential customers isn't either.

You may conclude that you are correct. But it won't get you any business.
