I have 7+ years of experience PLUS the certifications :-) of course still for Oracle OCA level but the two OCP choices Oracle has are not attractive enough i.e. I am not DBA neither want to be (first choice for OCP) and developing Web Apps with Oracle Forms sucks (second choice for OCP) even have read somewhere could (or even will) be discontinued.

On the other hand, I am going for all in the Sun Java Certifications path :-)

In general, I think that certifications are a sound (additional) way to stand
out on top of the crowd and from the point of view of training it is great because you have to study all the picky details on the subject. You will always learn alot more despite your previous experience but additionally [Quoted] I also find scoring to be lot of fun :-)
