The recruiters also write:

  • OCA
  • Certified PL/SQL Developer
  • Oracle Certified
  • etc etc

... whatever free form they find appropriate :-)

Thanks for the stats anyway ... I did not have time to do it but I remember some time ago searching in monster and found many job offers stating "Cetification XXX is a plus" and XXX very very often was refering to Oracle or Java certifications surprinsingly in US even Brainbench Certifications I personally have a folder plenty of them C++, Oracle, OO Concepts, EJB, Java, SQL, PL/SQL it is very very hard scoring try it out ...

I am open to it ... but then I will reply:

1-. If you really put effort in learning and learning well, getting certified (and most

importantly studying for it) is by no means waste of time, learning is never

waste of time. In my case I had 6 previous years of experience as Developer

with e.g. Java I found many very small details of the language that you ussually

never come across or rarely used but still they are there to serve.

Did you know e.g. that you can declare Objects within methods in Java 4?

I did not know before the exam ...

Did you know that there are triggers in Oracle even for notifying inserts into views?

I did not know before the exam ...

I put lot of effort in scoring, I learned a lot more, gained lot of confidence on the subjects

and I had lot of fun doing the exam. In my SJCP missed 3 questions out of 61.

2-. I did not spend one single cent for my certifications (not study material, courses neither exams).
